I’m a 24/7 caregiver for my husband of 21 years. He was diagnosed with Younger Onset Alzheimer’s in 2020 and has had a pretty steep cognitive decline since then. I’m looking for a once a week caregiver with Alzheimer’s experience for 3 hours to give me a break. My husband was a brilliant musician, songwriter, producer. He can no longer play. He is ambulatory but sometimes needs help getting up, especially if he is on the floor. He is in pull ups 24/7. He has anosognosia; meaning he doesn’t realize anything is wrong with him. We are left leaning, artistic, boheman types. We live in a very small apartment in NoHo Arts District with 3 small, docile senior dogs. We are looking for a caregiver that we vibe with.
