Hampton is an 8year old , active , sensory aware child on the autism spectrum. He is considered non verbal and communicates through asl gestures, sounds, leading by hand, and opt device . He understands more than he can express, so calm voices, short phrases, and patience are important. His means of communication and simple ASL signs help him regulate and communicate. Predictability and gentle guidance help him feel safe and comfortable. He enjoys projects, learning and outlets like the gym is something he enjoys due to sensory and regulation.
