I have two children, ages 8 and 10. My 10-year-old has autism and uses minimal verbal communication; however, he effectively communicates his wants and needs through pointing and verbal cues. He is fully potty trained and does not exhibit any behavioral concerns. My 8-year-old is doing well; she will occasionally assist in communicating on her brother’s behalf and is very shy in nature.
