City Elementary is a small ISBE-recognized private school located in the Hyde Park neighborhood. The school is tailored to children with diverse learning styles and developmental needs, including those on the autism spectrum, those with attentional issues, and those with sensory integration challenges. We are seeking someone to supervise and engage a handful of students (typically three or four) who participate in our AfterCare program. The ideal candidate will be a creative self-starter with a positive outlook and experience working with children on the autism spectrum or other developmental challenges. The hours are from 3:15 until approximately 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. Duties include maintaining a safe and engaging environment, leading the children in games and activities, and supervising snack time. Additionally, after the last child has been picked up, the AfterCare provider vacuums all rugs and mops the classroom floor.
