Friendly Upper West Side family looking for caregiver for 2 weekends/month (Sat/Sun 12-7:30 pm) including Sat night babysitting (to ~11pm), plus occasional weekday date nights and occasional weekend overnights. Our twin sons are 22; one is autistic (but verbal) and our caregivers focus on him. The other is also on the spectrum but fairly independent; he’s in college and home on weekends/school breaks. Position includes actively engaging our son in indoor/outdoor activities & supervising life skills (e.g., showering, using bathroom). Position also involves making beds & meal preparation/clean-up for both boys (when our other son is home) & occasional errands (e.g., light grocery shopping). Our boys have Medicaid disability benefits, so caregivers are paid on the books via the boys' Medicaid budgets every 2 weeks (direct deposit or check). This requires some initial hiring paperwork via the agency that manages payroll.
