need a writing tutor/mentor for 5th grader - Brookline, MA
Posted by Bo Z. on 9/20/2019
Start date: Flexible
- $20.00 per hour
- 1 child (Elementary)
My 10-year-old son is quiet and shy, but at the same time can be a chatterbox (per his 2nd grade teacher). He enjoys reading, drawing, skateboard, basketball, video games, jokes, riddles, etc. He started writing comic books for a while (when he is in the mood), not surprising it didn't go anywhere (his comic drawing does get better though). He needs someone to show him the proper way of writing and creating. Here are the goals I have in mind: 1) learn how to read and retell a story, 2) learn how to write a story, 3) time management skills, 4) some interesting social study topics, 5) solve math problems in fun and intuitive ways (optional, a plus). One hour lesson per week (or more as needed), can meet at main Brookline Public Library, 30 min sport time optional (paid of course, at Pierce playground/basketball court). Flexible weekday PM or weekends. Start date is flexible.
